Hi there, nice to meet you! I was born "Alexis," but please call me Alley.
My story begins as an inquisitive tween dreaming about digitally drawing and coloring like the masters on Deviantart. To my immense delight, I received a Wacom tablet for my fourteenth birthday, and have been toying with Adobe products and rudimentary web design ever since.
While I received my bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, my interest in computer art and web design never waivered. Here I am, now earning my master's degree in Mass Communications at the University of Florida, concentrating in Web Design and Online Communication. Talk about a career shift!
Yet, somehow it feels only natural..
Let's just say that before this program, I thought I had moderate proficiency in Adobe programs. Hint: I was wrong. There is so much more to the world of design than meets the eye, and I feel fortunate to be on this path. As the sun sets on my first semester, I look forward to learning even more in the next year of my program.
Programs I have learned to use so far include Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop), Sublime, Cyberduck, XHTML and CSS, with some blogging on Wordpress.
When I'm not in class, working full-time, or doing homework, I love to simply spend time with my family and friends and take walks with my mutt, Bowser (that's the cutie on the left). A few of my favorite things include being outdoors, Ed Sheeran, Game of Thrones, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
Below you can explore some examples of my work.
